Doug, I’m a bit at a loss to tell you what this comment from you means to me this morning. All of this soul-searching, all of this heartfelt thinking, all of this discovery, all of this wanting more from life and from yourself—this is the whole reason why I publish my own self-searching, in the hopes of inspiring others to dig more deeply. Thank you beyond simple words for sharing this reaction and wisdom with me. Also, I hadn’t heard that comparison between religion and spiritualism before—I like it.

Warmly,
Jennifer

My son is 21 years of age and five years ago my wife moved-out, while I was at work. My love for her was as deep as the deepest ocean. Thus, my healing has been an exceptional experience – full of reflection about my shortcomings as a mate – through which I have developed a deeper sense of spiritualism. I once heard: religion is for those afraid to go to hell, while spiriualism is for those who have been there and do not want to return, As I continue to forgive myself, as well as to forgive my ex, your short story allows me a further understanding of the trials and tribulations (as well as joy) of motherhood. You “see”, part of my forgiveness must include a renewed sense of respect for her efforts as mother, which I almost forgot. Finally, our son is a talented, brilliant gentleman and an excellent husband – further proof of her accomplishment. Again, I thank you! Finally, I sooo enjoy your writing style!!!
