I’ve heard this from many moms. I happen to live in one of those neighborhoods where kids still roam the streets on their bikes and are in and out of my house and yard until dark, but that wasn’t the case when the kids were younger. And as my oldest started making friends that live in other neighborhoods (or towns even), I find myself back in the role of play date organizer (except you can’t call it a playmate when they are eleven)! I do love the instant friends right outside our door, but just to offer another perspective, your quiet house on a hill would have sounded pretty great to me oh, about August. ?
